Theory House brings the Food Lion experience to the DC

For the second year in a row, Food Lion was the “Exclusive Grocery Store” of the DC Metropolitan Cooking & Entertaining Show as well as the “Proud Ingredient Sponsor” of the Food Lion Cooking Stage at the event.

The Metro Cooking & Entertaining Show is a weekend-long foodie event in November featuring hundreds of exhibitors, cooking demos, tastings, workshops, book signings and appearances by Food Network celebrities and other celebrity chefs. This year Food Lion asked Theory House to use their shopper marketing expertise to educate event attendees from Washington, DC & surrounding areas about the benefits of shopping at Food Lion.

We recreated the in-store experience in the Food Lion booth this year with bountiful displays of Fresh from the Field produce and a wide variety My Essentials Private brand items. Local Food Lion employees helped hand out fresh samples to attendees and were on hand to answer any questions about Food Lion’s value & variety.

Event guests were also invited to play our very popular My Essentials Price Challenge Game! Participants were brought up on to our stage to play a “Price is Right”-type game show that highlights just how much you save when shopping at Food Lion. Contestants were shown the price of a national brand product and they had to guess the price of the My Essentials brand product equivalent. Those who guessed the price closest to the actual retail price from each group won Food Lion gift cards or tickets to the Celebrity Theater at the DC Metro Cooking Show.
